Diagnostic algorithm for cystic fibrosis

Cystic fibrosis is the most frequent lethal inherited disease among Caucasians, with an incidence of about 1:2500. However, it is extremely under-recognized in our country. In an attempt to change this fact and increase the medical awareness of cystic fibrosis, we present the main clinical features of the disease and propose a rational approach to a patient with suspected cystic fibrosis.
