Why and how to formulate guidelines in paediatrics
The development of medicine, especially medical technology, has led to an increase in possibilities for diagnostics and treatment. With the aim of rationalizing procedures for diagnostics and treatment, primarily for the good of the patient, and then the wider community and society as a whole, the tendency in the world is to formulate guidelines for diagnostics and therapy in the approach to the most common health problems. There is a whole series of recommendations by professional societies and various authors on how to approach the same health problem, which is a particularly sensitive issue in paediatrics. In this process it is absolutely vital to respect the capabilities and good practice of each location, as some guidelines cannot be applied simply or without amendments in every location. Therefore the goal of this paper is to examine the present situation in this country in terms of the number and quality of protocols formulated, but also to be an incentive to standardize and unify the approach to health problems in childhood. It would be ideal to plan a project which would progress in phases, to make possible not only the formation of guidelines, but also their constant evaluation and implementation in practice. Keywords:
