Ombudsman for children in the protection of children's rights
In this work a development of the idea of an ombudsman for children is shown, from the beginning in Scandinavian countries to the present situation, with examples in some European countries, and in Croatia, where the preparations are being made to introduce an Ombudsman for Children Act, which is to regulate the establishment and work of an independent ombudsman for children office. The basis for establishing this office are the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child, obligatory for the countries which have signed it, and the recommendations of its Committee on the Rights of the Child, which suggest the establishment of national ombudsman for children offices, based on an Act of Parliament, as the most progressive form of protection of the rights of the child. Keywords:
