The solving of problems in studying using psychotherapy
The purpose of this study was to analyze problems suffered during studying by students at Split University, at the mental health department of the Students<@146> clinic in Split. Developmental disturbances suffered by students, in young adults, during the phase of self consolidation, are adolescent crises, may be seen in difficulties in passing exams and sexual problems. Through psychoanalytic psychotherapy, once a week, for 45 minutes, we are discovering the reasons for these disturbances and solving them. From 1992 to 1996 we treated 29 such problems, in 21 female students and 8 male students, aged from 20 to 32 years. All the students were passing through an adolescent crisis: 20 of them were mentally healthy, 8 had neurotic personal structures and 1 was a psychotic in remission. 271 psychotherapy seances we solved 22 disturbances and we noticed improvement in 7 students. We consider that psychotherapy is effective for the promotion of mental health and for solving real problems. Keywords:
