Landau Kleffner syndrome – case report

Our case report is about a girl with Landau Kleffner syndrome. The first clinical manifestation was when she was three years old as a generalised epileptic seizure and after that rapid deterioration of speech. We present the clinical, including the EEG report, and therapeutic aspects of our patient. Although the first clinical sign was an epileptic seizure and then regression of speech, this was a typical case of Landau-Kleffner syndrome with disruption of speech and auditory agnosia. Although epileptic seizures are rare and well controlled with antiepileptic therapy, the development of the speech remains the greatest problem that requires a multidisciplinary approach.
