Chronic invagination – a case presentation

Chronic intestinal invagination is a relatively rare cause of non-acute abdominal pain in adults and older children, and lead points are most commonly noted (Meckel,s diverticulum, intestinal polyps, enteric duplications, intramural hematoma, lymphoma). The preoperative diagnosis of invagination was based on ultrasonography and computed tomography which proved again to be the most effective and useful preoperative diagnostic methods. Surgical intervention is always needed in adults and older children because of the high incidence of underlying lesions.
