Cystic adenomatoid lung malformation

A nine year old boy with cystic adenomatoid malformation of the left lower lung lobes is presented. The illness appeared in the form of an acute respiratory infection and left sided pneumonia. When the pneumonia was cured, numerous large cystic formations int he left lower lobus remained. Bronchography showed traces of contrast substance in cystic formations. The cysts were removed with atypical resection of the left lower lobus. Pathohystological diagnosis: cystic adenomatoid malformation type
