The role of the pediatrician in child orthopedic care

Solving the problem of congenital hip dislocation demands a primarly preventive approach with early diagnosis, beginning in the maternity ward and including pediatricians in primary health care. Data are also given from the pilot study of the use of the child health card which show that clinical diagnostic tests are not sufficiently sensitive and the use of ultrasound is suggested for the early detection of congenital hip dislocation combined with further coordinated work.
