Obliterative bronchitis in a girl with thrombocytopenia-absent radius (TAR) syndrome

A 14-year old girl with TAR syndrome (congenital absence of both radii, thrombocytopenia, dextrocardia) had recurrent bronchities and pneumonia in the left lung from the second year of life. Radiologic examinations (scintigraphy, bronchography, CT) showed obliterative bronchitis in the lingula and left lower lobe. Anti-adenovirus titers in serum (1:512) indicate on latent-persistent adenovirus infection. The treatment includes physical and drug therapy.
